Coffee Corps is a unique private-public partnership that matches experts in the industry with farmers and associations at origin seeking technical assistance. These individuals volunteer their own time in order to help growers improve their production methods, quality control processes or marketing. Since the first assignment in May 2003, over 105 volunteers have completed assignments in nearly 25 countries logging more than 23,000 hours. Thousands of individuals in producing countries have benefited.

At its core, Coffee Corps focuses on training and education, following the adage "if you teach a man to fish…" Its impact can be felt far beyond the individual assignments as many recipients of Coffee Corps assistance go on to train others in their community. This is one of the most important, grass roots, industry-wide initiatives in existence. Coffee Corps is funded through a variety of grants and awards, but mostly relies on the support of the industry. This program is truly "for the industry, by the industry" so we invite all those concerned about sustainability and the livelihoods of the more than 125 million people who rely on coffee production to make an investment.
