• By 2050, at least 5 million people will die from air pollution related illnesses.
• A 50% increase in food production is needed to feed the world by 2050.
• Greenhouse gas emissions need to be reduced by 40-70% by 2050 to stay within the 2°C goal.

Helping coffee farmers obtain better yields and quality
As the leading provider of crop nutrition solutions to farmers throughout the world, we are investing in research on coffee to support farmers facing new challenges in the future.
While the coffee industry works to move farmers from subsistence to business, the focus shall remain on profit and sustainability, hand in hand with a protected environment.
We think it is possible. We are committed to sharing our knowledge. See how we do that in this video:
Through our NossoCafé platform, Yara reinforces its commitment to the sustainability of the coffee sector by meeting the demands of the market but with minimal environmental impact. We meet with thousands of coffee farmers annually, contributing to the success of their business, sharing our expertise in the culture, understanding the local need and its reality.
Farmers need help understanding which types of fertilizer to apply, and when. Yara’s global knowledge helps us adapt tools to local conditions, making sure farmers everywhere have the best opportunity to succeed.
The Yara Champions™
Through the Yara Champion Programs, coffee farmers participate in a dedicated platform that offers knowledge, products, and tools for the best practices in plant nutrition and coffee production.
The platform promotes greater yields and recognizes the best coffee growers on a yearly basis, through coffee quality competitions that count on the participation of certified Q Graders.
Watch this video to see how Colombian coffee growers and Yara agronomists are working together to increase coffee production and quality in a sustainable way.
As a result of their efforts, the coffee champions have increased both the volume and the quality, and therefore also their income.
