PARTNERS: Gumutindo Coffee Cooperative, International Trade Centre (ITC)
35 farmers and 11 international visitors at Gumutindo Coffee Cooperative in Mbale, Eastern Uganda. As a result of new perspectives gained through the gender workshop, Blue Bottle Coffee became a Sustaining Partner and made a community investment based on ideas developed during a visioning exercise with the farmers. Gender balance tree exercise highlighted roles and responsibilities, and resulting barriers, among men and women at the household and community levels. New perspectives generated mean long-held traditional views may be malleable, opening opportunities for women and men.
